The Chicago Bulls may look to rid the Boston Celtics front office as they begin the process of filling space in theirs.
The search is on to hire new personnel for the Chicago Bulls front office. According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Bulls are well on track to hire a new VP of Basketball Operations before the NBA Draft Combine from May 10-17. Furthermore, Chicago is reportedly considering the Boston Celtics’ front office after interviewing assistant general manager Dave Lewin.
Lewin has moved on to the next round of in-person interviews alongside Matt Lloyd, Dennis Lindsey, and Bryson Graham.
Since 2012, Lewin has worn many different hats with the Celtics, per Luke Adams of HoopsRumors.com. He began as the scouting coordinator, then became the director of scouting, G League general manager, and director of player personnel. In 2022, Lewin was promoted to assistant general manager.
Brad Stevens was hired as the president of basketball operations in 2021. Three years prior, Matt Zarren was hired as GM. In 2024, the Celtics won the NBA Championship in five games over the Dallas Mavericks. That same year, Stevens was honored as the NBA Executive of the Year. Meanwhile, the Celtics are very much a title contender as they navigate through the 2026 NBA Playoffs as the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Bulls are going through a complete restructuring. In early April, VP of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley were fired. Then, head coach Billy Donovan stepped down.
The Bulls are awaiting their lottery position. Also, they secured two first-round draft picks from the Portland Trail Blazers following Portland’s Play-In win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
