“THE FINAL CHALLENGE: SAVING HIS MARRIAGE!” – Danny Jones returns to the jungle not to battle wild beasts, but to face the ghost named Maura Higgins.

Danny Jones is finally set to return to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! eight months after his marriage was rocked by an illicit kiss with campmate Maura Higgins.

The McFly star, 39, was crowned King Of The Jungle last year, but he hit the headlines in February after he was caught in a compromising clinch with his co-star Maura, 35, at a BRIT Awards afterparty.

At the time, Danny apologised to his wife Georgia, saying he needed time to be with loved ones and ‘deeply apologised’ for the situation.

Earlier this week it appeared that their marriage was back on track, as Danny shared a snap from dinner with Georgia to celebrate her birthday.

In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, Danny revealed he’d jetted to Australia ahead of a return to the I’m A Celebrity jungle, with the singer set to appear on the spin-off show Unpacked.

The ITV show is currently in its final week, with this year’s winner set to be crowned in a live final on Sunday.

Danny and Maura were filmed in the midst of a drunken kiss while attending a BRIT Awards afterparty back in February.

At the time, the star issued a public apology to his wife Georgia, and assured fans that he and his family would handle matters privately.

Taking to Instagram he wrote a statement saying: ‘Hello everyone. Sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.

‘I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation.

‘I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.

‘I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding and support.’

He ended: ‘See you all soon, Danny.’

Since the kiss scandal, neither Danny nor Maura had attended any of the same events, but they came face to face with each other at the National Television Awards in September.

The Love Island star and the McFly singer, went on stage together when their show I’m A Celebrity scooped the prize for Best Reality Competition.

With hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly absent to collect the gong, the 2024 I’m A Celebrity cast took to the stage all together, with Danny giving the acceptance speech as the reigning champion, while Maura stood mere feet away.

Despite the scandal, Danny and Georgia continued to quietly work on repairing their marriage, with the pair enjoying a family holiday with their son Cooper.

Danny and Georgia also shared some photos of each other on social media in the summer, after a reunion with Georgia’s family.
