The Golden State Warriors continued to bolster their roster depth this week by signing Jeenathan “Nate” Williams to a two-way contract, adding a versatile 6-foot-5 left-handed wing with serious athleticism and G League production.
Williams, originally from Rochester, New York, played high school ball at University Prep before attending Prolific Prep in California. He then starred at the University of Buffalo, where he first gained attention for his explosive play and highlight-reel dunks (including a viral soul-snatching poster in 2017 that still circulates online).

NBA Experience & G League Dominance
The 25-year-old has appeared in three NBA seasons across 47 games:
- One season with the Portland Trail Blazers
- Two seasons with the Houston Rockets
Career NBA averages: 3.9 PPG, 1.1 RPG, 0.6 APG, 0.3 SPG in limited minutes.
This entire 2025-26 season, Williams has been with the G League’s Long Island Nets (Brooklyn Nets affiliate), where he has excelled:
- 17.9 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 2.7 APG, 1.5 SPG across 22 games
- Shooting 34.5% from three — a significant improvement over his NBA career mark (around 27–28%)
The improved three-point shooting is especially encouraging for a Warriors team that values spacing and off-ball movement. His athleticism, finishing ability, and defensive tools make him a classic two-way upside candidate.
What This Means for Golden State
The Warriors have been active in filling out their two-way and Exhibit 10 slots to add depth, especially on the wing and at forward. Williams joins a group that could include other young prospects and G League standouts competing for call-ups or end-of-bench minutes.
Warriors fans will now watch to see:
- Whether Williams gets NBA minutes down the stretch
- If he can translate his G League scoring and athleticism to meaningful rotation work
- How he fits into Steve Kerr’s motion offense and switch-heavy defense
For now, it’s another low-risk, high-upside addition for a team that continues to prioritize youth, athleticism, and shooting versatility while staying competitive in the Western Conference.
