“The Rules Are About To Be TORN UP!” Strictly Star Admits Total Terror As Shake-Up Threatens To ROCK The Competition.

A Strictly Come Dancing star has been left “terrified” ahead of a huge show shake-up.

The hit BBC dance competition previously announced a brand-new challenge for its contestants, which will take place this weekend.

The Instant Dance challenge, which has never been done before, will see the stars choosing a random dance style from sealed envelopes, which they will then have to perform on the spot.

The couples will compete to win extra marks in order to cement their place on the all-important leaderboard ahead of the upcoming quarter-final.

Speaking about the challenge on Wednesday’s (November 26) episode of Morning Live, YouTuber George Clarke told hosts Helen Skelton and Rav Wilding: “It’s a bit of a challenge.”

He went on: “Basically it’s called Instant Dance and one of the dances you’ve done before will get randomly selected alongside a random song. You have a few minutes to scramble, get an outfit off some rails that hasn’t been planned before.

“And then, I think it’s ten seconds as the song starts that you get to just go, ‘Okay, I guess we’re going to do this,’ which is terrifying.”

George’s professional partner, Alexis Warr, added: “We’ll all try to scream as much as possible.”

The challenge will take place towards the end of Strictly’s live show on Saturday (November 29), once all six remaining couples have danced in the usual way.

Head judge Shirley Ballas previously said in a statement: “Instant Dance has the power to change everything for our couples, and will challenge them in ways they have never been challenged before.

“With standards so incredibly high this year and the competition so close, there’s a lot resting on it. The dance styles, costumes and music might not be revealed until the night, but what we can be sure of right now is that it’s going to be a whole lot of fun. I cannot wait!”

The stakes are incredibly high this week after no one was sent home in Blackpool, following La Voix’s withdrawal from the competition due to an injury.

Last week’s scores and viewer votes will therefore be added this weekend’s results to determine who will be in the dreaded dance-off.

At the end of a spectacular night in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, former Emmerdale star Lewis Cope and his partner Katya Jones found themselves at the top of the leaderboard after scoring a perfect 40 for their Charleston to I Bet That You Look Good on the Dancefloor by Arctic Monkeys.

Meanwhile, EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon were bottom of the pack after their Argentine Tango to The Logical Song by Supertramp scored 33 points from the judges.
