The UNTHINKABLE is about to become REALITY! Mac McClung is ONE GAME AWAY from erasing the G League’s scoring record and putting his name in the history books FOREVER!

Mac McClung has taken the G League by storm this season, turning in one of the most dominant scoring campaigns the league has ever seen. The 27-year-old high-flying guard, on a two-way contract with the Chicago Bulls and suiting up for their affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, is leading the entire G League in scoring with an eye-popping 30.0 points per game (combining regular season, Tip-Off Tournament, and playoffs). His explosive play has him firmly in the GOAT conversation for G League performers — and now, history is within reach.

Just days ago, McClung erupted for a career-high and franchise-record 54 points against the College Park Skyhawks, going 18-of-34 from the field (including 9-of-18 from three) with 10 assists and 7 rebounds in a thrilling overtime loss. That outburst was the highest-scoring game in the G League this season and showcased why he’s been unstoppable: he’s posted at least 30 points in nine of Windy City’s last 13 games, including a stretch of four straight games with 33 or more.

This tear has propelled him up the all-time charts. McClung recently surpassed longtime G League veteran Andre Ingram to claim the No. 3 spot on the career scoring list (including Tip-Off Tournament, regular season, and playoffs combined), sitting at 5,137 total points. He’s now just 24 points shy of overtaking Vander Blue for the No. 2 position — a mark he’s poised to eclipse in his very next outing.

The Windy City Bulls are set to face the Wisconsin Herd on Monday night in Hoffman Estates, and if McClung suits up and plays anywhere near his recent form, the No. 2 spot is his. But the real prize — the all-time G League scoring crown held by Renaldo Major at around 5,058–5,300 points (depending on exact updates) — is tantalizingly close overall, though the remaining gap to the top requires a bit more time.

With only six regular-season games left for Windy City, McClung would need to average about 27 points per game to catch Major this season — a number well below his current scorching pace of 30+ PPG. However, five of those final six are on the road, and given his two-way status and the Bulls’ injury woes in the NBA, the organization might prioritize keeping him as injury insurance with the parent club rather than sending him on the road. He’s only played one road G League game since signing the deal on February 5, making his availability for that potential record-breaking night a big question mark.

Regardless of what happens next, McClung’s commitment to the G League grind is paying off in historic fashion. After years of proving himself — including past MVP honors, All-G League First Team selections, and scoring titles — he’s on the verge of becoming the league’s undisputed all-time leading scorer. If he claims the top spot this season or early next (2026-27), it would be an unforgettable accomplishment for a player who’s dazzled with viral dunks, elite scoring, and relentless drive.

The unthinkable is knocking at the door. Mac McClung isn’t just dominating — he’s rewriting the record books. One game could change everything. History awaits. 🚀🐂
