While the Knicks have not yet requested permission to speak with Kidd, who has two years left on his contract extension with Dallas, his experience and reputation make him a compelling choice.
Kidd, a proven NBA head coach, would likely command instant respect in the Knicks’ locker room. His prior relationship with Jalen Brunson, forged during Kidd’s first season with the Mavericks, could also ease the transition.
