UNMASKING THE TRAITOR: But this time, it’s not in the game—it’s the BBC! Fans are hunting down the spoiler before they even watch.

Celebrity Traitors fans have expressed their outrage over the BBC “spoiling series” with a huge change. The first ever UK celebrity version of the series is underway and viewers have been loving it so far

However, there is one detail in particular that fans can’t get on board with. Four episodes have aired so far, with Wednesdays and Thursdays being the regular slots for Celebrity Traitors.

But viewers are wishing that there was at least one more episode a week as they don’t want to wait so long for the next instalment. The usual version of the show tends to also run on Fridays in the primetime slot – but not this time around.

The BBC confirmed this week that there will be a total of nine episodes in this series, despite the civilian version normally airing for 12 episodes. The final episode of the show will air on November 6 with a special 70 minute episode.

Instead of Celebrity Traitors being on Fridays, Steve Coogan’s new series How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge) is airing at the 9pm slot on BBC One. Fans of the show have taken to X to express their disappointment due to the absence of Traitors on a Friday.

One person said: “Why is the celebrity version following a different schedule? It seemed like they were stretching the action out across more episodes as well?”

While a second wrote: “That’s the only thing that spoils it for me is only two episodes a week, I want it boom, boom boom,” with another adding: “Two episodes a week is criminal, seriously.”

Celebrity Traitors has got off to a dramatic start, with several celebrities already murdered by the traitors. Chat show host Jonathan Ross, comedian Alan Carr and singer Cat Burns are the three current traitors.

The BBC confirmed the huge viewing figures for the Celebrity Traitors following its launch show. The series broke its own viewership record and taken over all BBC unscripted series since 2022 to take the most-watched title.

The new series welcomed almost 12 million viewers with more than half of the show’s fans tuning in to watch the first episode on live TV. According to the BBC, the first episode of Celebrity Traitors saw 6.5 million live viewers, with 52.7 per cent of households and their televisions switched on tuning in.

Three Traitors have already killed off several of their fellow celebs. Firstly Paloma Faith was “murdered” in plain sight by her best friend Alan then came Olympic diver Tom Daley’s death followed by actress Ruth Codd.

The Faithfuls have failed to work out any of the Traitors so far but some are starting to look at Jonathan. One celebrity will be crowned the winner and take home up to £100,000 for their chosen charity.
