WARRIORS JUST DROPPED A BOMBSHELL LINEUP DECISION! Golden State’s Starting Five vs. Kings LOCKED IN After Stephen Curry’s Shocking Update.

The Golden State Warriors are set to face the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night, April 7, in what could be one of their final regular-season games of the 2025-26 NBA campaign — and it will feature Stephen Curry as the superstar makes his second appearance since returning from a lengthy knee injury.

Curry’s comeback has been highly anticipated after he missed more than two months with runner’s knee. In his first game back against the Houston Rockets, the Warriors fell short as Curry missed a potential game-winning shot. Now, for the matchup against Sacramento, the Warriors have made a surprising call on their starting lineup once again.

In a post on social media, the Warriors officially announced their starting five for Tuesday night:

Will Richard, Brandin Podziemski, De’Anthony Melton, Malevy Leons, and Draymond Green will get the nod from head coach Steve Kerr.

This is not the same group that took the floor on Sunday, even though Stephen Curry is once again being held out of the starting lineup. The decision comes as something of a bombshell for fans expecting to see the four-time champion leading the charge from tip-off.

Warriors Final Injury Report and Curry’s Status

While Curry was listed as probable earlier in the day, he was upgraded to available for the game against the Kings. However, he will not start and remains on a strict minutes restriction.

According to ESPN insider Anthony Slater, Curry is expected to play roughly 26 minutes per game for the next few outings. The plan is for him to come off the bench but close out every quarter to manage his workload safely.

“From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be around that again — 26, maybe stretched a little bit,” Slater reported. “Which probably means he’s coming off the bench again, because they want him to close every quarter.”

The Warriors are also dealing with significant injury issues beyond Curry. Kristaps Porzingis was ruled out with an ankle injury, while Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody are sidelined for the remainder of the season with knee injuries. Rookie LJ Cryer is out with an illness, and big men Al Horford (right soleus strain), Quinten Post (right foot injury), and Gui Santos (right pelvic contusion) will also miss the contest.

Curry sat out 27 consecutive games before his return and the organization’s primary focus remains getting him healthy and ramped up for the playoffs. The minutes limit is a cautious approach designed to minimize the risk of re-aggravating the knee injury that has no structural damage but will require ongoing management.

Currently sitting at 36-42 and in 10th place in the Western Conference, the Warriors are locked into the Play-In Tournament. Every remaining regular-season game carries major implications as they fine-tune their roster and rotations heading into the postseason.

Warriors fans will be watching closely to see how Curry looks in his limited role and whether the makeshift starting lineup can deliver a much-needed win against the Kings on Tuesday night.
