The Golden State Warriors hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves, seeking a third straight win in the 2025-26 NBA regular season. However, the away side, even without their star player, Anthony Edwards, ended the Warriors’ winning streak and defeated them 127-120.
Both teams were evenly matched at halftime, separated by just two points, with the Warriors leading the Timberwolves 63-61. Stephen Curry was the top scorer for the home side with 16 points, while Julius Randle took the lead for the Wolves with 19 points, followed by Naz Reid (14 points) and Jaden McDaniels (12 points).
Turnovers have been a major issue for the Warriors this season. In the Friday night game, the Warriors had 13 turnovers while the Wolves ended up with 10. The fourth quarter was the most exciting period of the game as it witnessed multiple lead changes with the Timberwolves ultimately clinching the victory.
The Warriors managed a three-point lead going into the fourth quarter. However, the Timberwolves’ 17-0 run helped them take a 12-point lead. Despite chasing the double-digit points difference and taking a one-point lead, the Warriors failed to continue the momentum and lost by seven points.
Despite Stephen Curry’s Outburst, Timberwolves Clinch Victory
Stephen Curry exploded for 39 points, five rebounds, and five assists in 32 minutes. Apart from him, four Warriors stars scored in double digits, including Quinten Post (16 points, six rebounds), Jimmy Butler (15 points, eight rebounds, five assists), Pat Spencer (12-5-4), and Moses Moody with 11 points.
On the other hand, Julius Randle led the scoring for the Warriors with 27 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. Apart from him, Rudy Gobert scored 24 points, 14 rebounds, and three stocks (steals and blocks), while Donte DiVincenzo scored 21 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels also contributed to the win with 18 and 17 points, respectively. With this win, the Timberwolves improved to a 16-9 record, climbing to the sixth spot in the West. On the other hand, the Warriors still managed to be in the eighth spot with a 13-13 record.
