A NEW ERA BEGINS! Josh Giddey Has Just Rewritten History, Making the “Impossible” Stat Line Look Routine.

The Chicago Bulls are witnessing the explosion of a true superstar: Josh Giddey, the 23-year-old Australian sensation, is turning triple-doubles—once considered “impossible” for most players—into an everyday occurrence.

In the 2025-26 season, Giddey is delivering career-best performances, averaging around 20 points, 10 rebounds, and nearly 10 assists per game—all career highs. As of late December 2025, he has racked up at least six triple-doubles, putting him among the league leaders and continuing his ascent as one of the NBA’s premier playmakers.

Australian basketball legend Andrew Gaze, widely regarded as the greatest player in the country’s history, has been effusive in his praise for Giddey. “He’s a walking triple-double,” Gaze told AAP. “This season has exceeded all expectations. With his massive recent contract, he’s performing well above its value.”

Giddey recently signed a four-year, $100 million extension with the Bulls (averaging $25 million per season), and he’s proving he’s worth every penny. Beyond dominating the stat sheet, Giddey has significantly improved his three-point shooting—a former weakness—aiding the Bulls during their ongoing rebuild.

With multiple triple-doubles already this season, Giddey has surpassed legends like Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in career triple-doubles before age 24, placing him in elite company alongside Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, and Michael Jordan.

Gaze believes Giddey is fully deserving of his first NBA All-Star selection. “The recognition of being an All-Star would be justified,” Gaze said. “No one would be shocked if he makes it—he’s firmly in the conversation.” Ben Simmons remains the only Australian with multiple All-Star nods, but a new era is dawning with Giddey leading the way.

His chances are boosted by the revamped 2026 All-Star format: two teams of American stars and one Team World competing in a round-robin tournament. Highlighting the NBA’s international surge—with stars like Nikola Jokić, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander—this change could favor Giddey and fellow Aussie Dyson Daniels, who’s excelling defensively with the Atlanta Hawks.

From a young talent mentored by Andrew Gaze in Melbourne to an NBA history-maker, Josh Giddey is redefining what’s possible. Triple-doubles are no longer rare feats—for Giddey, they’re just another night on the court. A new era for Australian basketball, and for the Chicago Bulls, has truly begun!
