IT’S OFFICIAL! The Heat Just Ranked Their Trade Assets, And One Fan Favorite Is Officially “On The Block.”

With the Feb. 5 trade deadline approaching, the Miami Heat possess several valuable trade assets that could be used to upgrade the roster – especially if a superstar like Giannis Antetokounmpo becomes available. In this breakdown, we’re excluding veterans who would only be moved in a Giannis-level blockbuster (Bam Adebayo, Norman Powell), leaving everyone else fair game.

1. Kel’el Ware – The Most Valuable Asset (Depending Who You Ask)

Kel'el Ware
Kel’el Ware
  • Age: 21
  • Position: Center
  • Profile: Ware is currently the Heat’s most talented young player and has had dominant stretches this season. He can do almost everything on the floor: rebound, rim-run, protect the paint, and even space to a degree.
  • Biggest flaw: Inconsistent motor – an issue that dates back to college and has carried over to the NBA.
  • Trade value: Ware is the perfect “enticer” for a star. Any team would salivate at the chance to acquire a young big with his upside. If the Heat pursue Giannis, Ware will almost certainly have to be included.

2. Tyler Herro – Homegrown All-Star Always in Trade Rumors

  • Age: 26
  • Position: Guard/Shooting Guard
  • Profile: Herro is in the best form of his career – a bucket from all three levels, elite floater game, improved body control to handle physicality. Last season (his healthiest) earned him his first All-Star nod.
  • Major flaws:
    • Still a defensive liability (though improved).
    • Injury history – this season he’s only played 11 games.
  • Trade value: Herro has been in trade machines virtually every year of his career. The Heat have never actively shopped him, but he’s always the centerpiece for superstar talks (Lillard, Durant, now potentially Giannis). Teams love his talent but will demand medical clearance.

3. Andrew Wiggins – Former All-Star, Champion, Fits Any System

Andrew Wiggins
Andrew Wiggins
  • Age: 31
  • Position: Wing/Forward
  • Profile: Wiggins is the ultimate “plug-and-play” player – adapts to any style. Elite defender with versatility (guards guards, forwards forwards), championship experience (2022 Warriors), and great team attitude.
  • Biggest strength: Two-way impact and reliability.
  • Trade value: Wiggins is “safe” – not a superstar but incredibly useful for contenders. Heat could use him as high-salary filler in a big trade (Giannis) or flip him separately for assets.

Heat in Strong Position – But Must Decide Soon Right now:

  • Heat have strong young development (Ware, Jaquez, Herro when healthy).
  • Flexible salary fillers (Simons expiring, Wiggins).
  • Ability to construct blockbuster offers if Giannis hits the market (Ware + Herro + Wiggins + picks would be massive bait).

But if they want to preserve youth and long-term flexibility, they could move Wiggins + Simons for quality role players or picks instead of sacrificing Ware/Herro.

Feb. 5 deadline is closing in fast. Heat must decide: build patiently around Tatum, Butler, and youth, or go all-in for a superstar like Giannis (at the potential cost of Ware/Herro/Wiggins)?
