Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson exited Wednesday night’s game against the Utah Jazz with hamstring tightness, leaving fans and the organization eager for clarity on his status. After the Nuggets secured the victory, head coach David Adelman finally addressed the situation.
During the April 1 win over the Jazz, Watson was forced out of the contest after just nine minutes of action. He finished with 6 points on 3-of-5 shooting and added 3 rebounds. The team initially listed him as questionable to return, but he did not come back into the game.

When asked for an update after the final buzzer, Coach Adelman provided the much-anticipated statement:
“I don’t know anything yet. This has just been… It’s just every night it seems like. We’re just trying to get Peyton in a rhythm. As far as I know, it was just discomfort.”
The comment comes after a frustrating stretch for the 24-year-old veteran. Watson missed over a month of action following a 33-minute outing against the New York Knicks on February 4. He made his return on March 22 against the Portland Trail Blazers and had played in three consecutive games leading into Wednesday’s matchup.

On the season, Watson has appeared in 53 games, posting strong individual numbers: 14.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He is shooting an efficient 49.0% from the field and 41.5% from beyond the three-point arc.
Despite the latest setback, the Nuggets continue to roll as a team. Wednesday’s victory extended their winning streak to seven games. They now sit at 49-28 overall, good for the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference. Denver is just 1.5 games behind the Los Angeles Lakers and holds a 1.5-game advantage over the Houston Rockets.
The Nuggets will look to keep their momentum going when they host the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday with a 3:00 PM ET tip-off.
Stay tuned for further updates on Peyton Watson’s condition as the Nuggets medical staff evaluates the hamstring issue in the coming days.
