BLOCKBUSTER BOMBSHELL IN THE BAY! Warriors Eye $108M Big Man, Ready To Cut Ties With Jonathan Kuminga In Mega Trade Idea

As the 2025-26 NBA season approaches the trade deadline on February 5, the Golden State Warriors are in a familiar but precarious spot: a fading dynasty desperate to squeeze one more championship window out of Stephen Curry’s legendary career. Sitting at 16-16 and clinging to playoff relevance, the Warriors have quietly explored options to upgrade their frontcourt, with one name standing out: Myles Turner of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report recently outlined a blockbuster five-team trade that would send Turner to Golden State while reshaping rosters across the league. The proposal is ambitious, risky, and exactly the kind of swing a team like the Warriors might need.

The Proposed Five-Team Trade

Milwaukee Bucks receive:

Darius Garland (from Cavaliers)Jarrett Allen (from Cavaliers)Thomas Bryant (from Cavaliers)Terance Mann (from Nets)$2.3M trade exception (Cole Anthony)$2.3M trade exception (Amir Coffey)

Cleveland Cavaliers receive:

Jonathan Kuminga (from Warriors)Bobby Portis (from Bucks)2027 protected first-rounder (from Warriors)2031 protected first-rounder (from Bucks)Multiple trade exceptions

Golden State Warriors receive:

Myles Turner (from Bucks)Day’Ron Sharpe (from Nets)$2.2M trade exception (Trayce Jackson-Davis)

Indiana Pacers receive:

Trayce Jackson-Davis (from Warriors)

Brooklyn Nets receive:

Kyle Kuzma (from Bucks)Cole Anthony (from Bucks)Amir Coffey (from Bucks)Al Horford (from Warriors)Buddy Hield (from Warriors)Multiple second-round picks and trade exceptions

Why the Warriors Would Do This Deal

The Warriors have been aggressive since early December, holding conversations with the Nets, Bulls, and Pelicans. Pincus notes that the team sees Turner as the ideal starting center to address their interior struggles—adding rim protection, floor spacing, and defensive versatility.

Turner (29) is averaging 18.0 points and elite rim protection this season. His 3-point shooting stretches defenses, creating easier looks for Curry and Jimmy Butler. Adding Day’Ron Sharpe provides young depth at center.

The cost is steep:

Jonathan Kuminga (23) has high upside but has struggled with consistency and fit.Al Horford (39) has declined and is expendable.Buddy Hield and a future first-round pick sweeten the package.

As Pincus wrote: “With coach Steve Kerr acknowledging that the Warriors are a ‘fading dynasty,’ the team trades to rekindle its fire by landing a badly needed starting center, Turner, who can stretch the floor.”

This move gives Golden State a chance to elevate their floor in Curry’s final years. The current roster has proven it isn’t a title contender as constructed—taking a risk on Turner could be the spark needed for championship No. 5.

Why Milwaukee Would Consider It

The Bucks (currently underperforming) are hoping to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo happy, but Turner’s addition hasn’t delivered the expected impact. Trading him for Darius Garland (a dynamic point guard) and Jarrett Allen (a reliable center) could reinvigorate their offense and defense.

Why Cleveland and Others Would Join

Cleveland gains Jonathan Kuminga (young upside) and draft capital while shedding salary. The Nets and Pacers receive pieces that fit their rebuilds.

The Bottom Line

This five-team deal is complex and unlikely to happen exactly as proposed—but it highlights the Warriors’ urgency. With Curry’s window closing, Golden State must take calculated risks. Adding Turner would instantly upgrade their frontcourt, giving them a legitimate shot at contending in the West.

Warriors Nation: This could be the bold move that reignites the dynasty. The deadline is coming fast—time to make a splash.
